I think it is so unbelievable how these settlers completely disregard the notion of a Palestinian nation, that the land ever belonged in the private hands of Palestinians, or even that they have a deity. It is shocking yet in an extreme sense falls under the nationalist rhetoric of creating an "us" vs "them" structure in which the "them" and their community and ideologies are inferior and not legitimate. The inability of people and communities to see the other side, the other story or perspective continued to be incredibly problematic in international politics today.
After viewing the documentary, Unsettled, we wanted to know more. More about the settlements, the politics, the conflict.
Our aim: to understand the historical context of the settlement movement, to understand why the Israeli government supported and initiated the settlements in the Occupied Territories after 1967, and how these settlements have functioned over time.
